Congratulations to our 2021 Interns for graduating from UNISIERRA!

In 2021, a new generation of conservationists from the Sky Island region participated in the Sky Island Alliance summer internship program. All four of the Sky Island Alliance interns were students from Universidad de la Sierra (UNISIERRA) in Moctezuma, Sonora, Mexico. Two of these 4 interns built on their summer internships to complete undergraduate thesis projects focused on studying wildlife species with game cameras.

We are happy to announce that both interns, Mónica Montaño and Maybeth Yulissa Pinto Santana, have now graduated from the UNISIERRA with degrees in Biology.

We are confident that both Mónica and Maybeth will put their degrees to good use and will continue working for the conservation of our Sky Islands. A path full of success and positive experience awaits them. We are excited to watch their careers and celebrate their successes.
