Join us Thursday, February 25 at 9:30 a.m. MST for an interview with Mexican artist Jorge Obregón about his landscapes of sky island mountain ranges in central Mexico and other regions of the world! During this discussion, you’ll see several of Jorge’s paintings up close and hear how Mexico’s mountain ranges inspired him to pursue a lifetime of art.

Born in Mexico City, Jorge Obregón grew up with a love of the outdoors and studied visual arts at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. In the mid-1990s, he branched into landscapes by participating in four residencies and various workshops around the world. His landscape projects have taken him to many countries, including the United States, Spain, Finland, and Japan, and gotten him into over 60 art exhibitions globally.

Jorge Obregón, nacido en la Ciudad de México, creció con un amor por el aire libre y estudió artes visuales en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. A mediados de la década de 1990, se diversificó hacia los paisajes al participar en cuatro residencias y varios talleres en todo el mundo. Sus proyectos de paisaje lo han llevado a muchos países, incluidos los Estados Unidos, España, Finlandia y Japón, y lo han llevado a más de 60 exposiciones de arte en todo el mundo.
