‘Satellite’ Book Launch
Sky Island Alliance is excited to cosponsor the launch of “Satellite,” Tucson-based author Simmons Buntin’s new essay collection exploring belonging — among people, places, and wildlife — through 16 essays spanning the Sky Island region and beyond. In his book, Buntin searches for a balance between the built and natural environments, asking how the beings that inhabit these ecosystems can coexist in ways that enable us not only to survive, but to thrive together. Join SIA and Terrain.org for a multimedia presentation, discussion, and book signing on Sunday, March 9, from 4-5 p.m. at the Center for Creative Photography, University of Arizona. The event is free, and there’s free parking as well on weekends in the lot directly behind the center, which is accessible off 2nd Street and Palm.
