The “Nancy Z” Summer Speaker Series 2015

A community event promoting appreciation for the Sky Island region through science, culture, art and music. The Speaker Series is dedicated to Sky Island Alliance co-founder, Nancy “Z” Zierenberg, who inspired hundreds of activists and worked tirelessly in all of her efforts to promote the earth first. The goal of the speaker series is to inspire the public appreciation of the sky island region, through culture, art, science and research, music, and more.

2015 Ellen Meloy Desert Writers Award winner Melissa Sevigny will speak about her upcoming book Mythical River, which weaves together the geology, ecology, history and politics of the American Southwest into a narrative about water that considers what it means to make a home in a dry place.
