Join Sky Island Alliance and the Western National Parks Association in Oro Valley for a two-part class on how to use motion-activated cameras to observe animals in your backyard and contribute to regional wildlife conservation efforts.
In part one, participants will learn about conservation efforts by Sky Island Alliance and learn how to operate backyard wildlife cameras. In part two, students will learn how to identify animals observed on camera and contribute camera data to our FotoFauna conservation efforts. Students can bring their own camera, or limited loaner cameras will be available to borrow for the duration of the class. Optionally, students can purchase a wildlife camera kit with everything needed to get started for $100. If interested in purchasing or borrowing a camera, please email Eamon Harrity by Nov. 1.
- Course fee: $50 per adult (kids free)
- Optional fee: $100 for a complete camera kit
- Dates: Nov. 12, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and Nov. 19, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Location: Western National Parks, 12880 N. Vistoso Village Dr., Oro Valley, AZ 85755. This event will take place in the Kiva Room at the National Parks Store. Additional parking available at rear of building.
