Tracking Urban Emissions Through Plant Radiocarbon and Traffic Modeling

We’re back this spring with another community science project that builds on last year’s efforts and brings two volunteer opportunities to the Tucson area. In this virtual talk, we share how folks can join the project and help improve urban emissions data by collecting invasive plants and counting traffic. Our guest speaker is Ashley Cadena, a PhD student at Northern Arizona University and member of the Southwest Urban Corridor Integrated Field Laboratory. In her talk, she covers the background on how greenhouse gas emissions are studied, preliminary results from last year’s statewide efforts, and how you can get involved this spring.
