On Oct. 14-15 several of our staff from both sides of the border united in Moctezuma, Sonora, for the first annual Festival of the Sky Islands. So much fun! Thanks to all who attended and the many partner organizations who made the event possible.
We were grateful to be able to participate with an educational stand so we could help teach others about this beautiful region. On the second day, we gave a workshop to demonstrate the importance of vegetation in ecosystems in order to soak up rainwater and reduce damage caused by erosion. For a glimpse of the activities, check out these wonderful photos below from our Sonora Conservation Coordinator Sergio Müller, and stay tuned for more opportunities ahead.
