Southern Galiuros: Springs Assesments
This weekend, we will be hoping to finish up our assessments of springs in preparation for controlled burns that will be conducted in the area in May and June. It is unknown how fire affects spring ecosystems, so this trip will be focused on collecting baseline information on springs before fire.

Our work at Tumacacori National Historical Park continues. We will be watering and assessing the condition of the plants, weeding around the new trees, and building/maintaining basins at the base of the trees to hold water.

Planting for Pollinators at Gila Cliff Dwellings NM
SIA is going to New Mexico! Join us as we re-create habitat for pollinators and other species at Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. We will be building upon work we did last year to plant and stabilize a slope that was intensively burned a couple years ago.

Memorial Day in Aravaipa Canyon – Restoration
Sky Island Alliance has been helping TNC and the BLM in Aravaipa Canyon for several years on a variety of projects to increase watershed health along this perennial riparian area. During this trip we will be removing vinca from the understory of the creek banks. PLEASE NOTE: SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES FOR THIS TRIP! Registration for this trip will close at 11 PM on Monday May 23rd!
