In this virtual Coffee Break from May 30, 2024, Sky Island Alliance staff share latest updates on our work to protect southern Arizona’s Patagonia Mountains from destructive mining. A company called South32 has requested to expand a mine onto U.S. Forest Service land, which will require the discharge of up to 6.84 million gallons of precious groundwater per day and lead to many other irreversible damages. Learn more in the talk, including ways to get involved. And don’t forget to take action by June 10 in this next step of the public process.
