In this Coffee Break from Nov. 16, 2023, our presenter, Sarah J. Love, dives into how sky islands across the world are being used to study ecological and evolutionary impacts of global climate change. Love is a PhD candidate in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. For her study, she conducted a comprehensive literature review of sky island dynamics from these systems around the world and conducted two separate common garden experiments in the western U.S. She explains her project findings and what it could mean for species adapting to a changing world.
