The Rincon Mountains are amazing—so close to Tucson and yet part of a roadless wilderness that still holds many mysteries. Join Saguaro National Park (SNP) on Thursday, February 11 at 9:30 a.m. MST to dig into these mysteries and learn just a little bit more about SNP’s work in the region. Register to attend the Zoom meeting or join live on Facebook.
Hosted by Don Swann and Dan Beckman from Saguaro National Park, this discussion will focus on SNP’s efforts to learn more about high elevation springs: finding previously undocumented springs and rare plants, assessments, history, and where the water comes from. Don and Dan will also talk about the drying of historic springs and how SNP hopes to guide back-country users to new water sources.
Thank you so much to the SNP springs team for your amazing work protecting Sky Island waters— Don Swann, Dan Beckman, Olivia Thorp, and Nicole Gonzalez! For more information about Saguaro National Park, visit www.nps.gov/sagu/index.htm.
