Join us Thursday, January 28 at 9:30 a.m. MST to learn about The Nature Conservancy’s Aravaipa Canyon Preserve and the work Sky Island Alliance is doing there on invasive periwinkle (Vinca major).

First, TNC Preserve Steward Aaron Mrotek will give us an overview of the canyon, TNC’s role there, and the Vinca infestation on the preserve. Then, Sky Island Alliance Spring Specialist Sami Hammer will describe SIA’s role in removing the Vinca and give you a preview of what a volunteer trip to Aravaipa is like, including camping at the preserve and SIA’s COVID-19 precautions.

Be prepared for photos of a gorgeous canyon, cool wildlife, and volunteers having fun!
