Coffee Break: History of Springs in a Northern Sky Island
March 31, 2022, 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Register Here!
Springs are natural features in the Sky Islands that provide life-saving water in a very dry place, which has always made them incredibly valuable to people…who have in turn altered springs in ways that are often invisible today. Join us on March 31st at 10 am (Arizona time) to hear Don Swann from Saguaro National Park use historic documents and photos from the Rincon Mountains to explore the history of springs and their use by farmers, ranchers, fire fighters, wilderness advocates, and others. The history of springs is not only interesting, but relevant as we consider questions of restoration and the different values of water for us today.
Date & Time: Thursday, March 31, 2022 — 10:00 a.m. PDT and Arizona Time.
