Oppose New Border Wall in the San Rafael Valley

Plans are quickly moving forward to build 27 miles of new border wall in the San Rafael Valley, and we need your help to oppose this destructive plan.

Earlier in June, the Trump administration waived environmental laws to rush through the project. Then shortly after, a $309 million contract was awarded to Fisher Sand & Gravel. Now, U.S. Customs and Border Protection is holding a public comment period — a last chance to weigh in on plans for a wall with 30-foot-high steel bollards.

The San Rafael Valley is an essential corridor where wildlife species frequently move between the U.S. and Mexico. In the heart of this peaceful valley, Arizona’s most spectacular remaining grassland spreads out between the Patagonia and Huachuca mountains.

Steel bollard wall is predicted to decrease all wildlife crossings in the valley by 86% — stopping the passage of deer, black bears, pronghorn, and turkeys completely. Wall construction will draw down precious groundwater, degrade habitat, and destroy cultural sites.

Using the form below, send a letter to CBP and your elected officials urging them to reconsider plans and uphold environmental protections.
