This November our longtime employee Maggie Trinkle, who served as our chief operations officer, said goodbye to Sky Island Alliance. I’ve had the wonderful pleasure of working alongside Maggie for her entire 10 years with SIA and much more closely the past six years since I’ve been executive director. It’s been quite a journey of learning, improving, and financial success since Maggie started! For that we are grateful.
She was instrumental in steering Sky Island Alliance into financial stability and sustainability, helping us build reserves to keep up steady conservation work, and ensuring the donations and grants people trusted us with were put to good use to protect wildlife and wild places. If you got a chance to meet Maggie, you’ll no doubt remember her warm welcoming approach that made staff, board, and so many of our donors and supporters feel appreciated. She’s always been committed to doing what is best for Sky Island Alliance, and it shows in our growth and stability!
And yet things change. Maggie is a wonderful, creative mind who is ready for a well-deserved rest and space to pursue new things. We will miss her, and we wish her creative and fulfilling new endeavors and success in her next journey.
Thank you, Maggie, for all you’ve done for Sky Island Alliance, your dedication and hard work over many years, and your support for the Sky Islands we all love!
