I am retired and living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. With an education focused on science my background includes several years working as a staff biologist with the University of New Mexico and owner of a wholesale plant nursery which specialized in growing plants native to the Southwest. I grew up in the college town of Lawrence, Kansas and first moved West in the early seventies. I spent time in Colorado and Wyoming before settling in New Mexico in 1981. I stay active with other organizations doing volunteer work ranging from trail building & maintenance, riparian restoration, as a chef for trail work crews, invasive plant removal and other endeavors. I enjoy getting out in the field with the Sky Island Alliance as often as possible. I began visiting the Sky Island bioregion my first year in the Southwest and have developed a deep and lasting appreciation for the myriad lifeforms that call this important region home.
