Hi there! My name is Oskar Anderson, and I’ve lived in beautiful Tucson, Arizona, for my entire life.
I am currently studying biology at Pima Community College with the intent to transfer to the University of Arizona and pursue a BS in Natural Resources (rangeland management emphasis). I’m particularly interested in the hands-on aspect of lab and field work, and I love to gather data and then see what can be learned from it. My studies have provided me with a lot of great opportunities to get involved with conservation work and leadership through workshops and volunteer events.
I’m fascinated by Arizona’s native deserts, grasslands, and riparian areas, and I’m eager to learn more about the great diverse systems of life that I interact with every day. I’m excited to be working with Sky Island Alliance as a wildlife intern this fall and especially to be involved with trail camera research on projects like the Border Wildlife Study. I hope that through my education and work I can help others understand their connection to their local ecology and feel inclined to protect it.
