Lyndsey Shafiei

Lyndsey ShafieiPeace Corps Coverdell Fellow

From North Carolina, Lyndsey Shafiei earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from NC State University before joining the Peace Corps in Namibia in 2018, where she served as a STEM and health educator for grades 4-7. Inspired by her work in HIV prevention and community health in Namibia, Lyndsey worked in the public health research field for five years upon her return to the U.S. Her Peace Corps experience encouraged her to take another leap of faith and relocate across the country to pursue a Master’s in Architecture at the University of Arizona. She aims to become a designer who uses architecture as a tool for community empowerment and environmental stewardship.

As a Coverdell Fellow at SIA, Lyndsey is excited to support the Spring Seeker program, volunteer management, and landscape design.

Outside of her academic work, Lyndsey enjoys playing the harp, dancing, hiking, camping, reading, cooking, studying botany, and participating in mutual aid.
