Keren EsquerConservation and Restoration Intern

Pronouns: She/Her/Ella

My name is Keren Deyanira Esquer Lemus, and I live in Los Hoyos, Sonora.

I’m currently studying biology at the Universidad de la Sierra and am interested in such subjects as Population Ecology and GIS (Geographic Information Systems), which are linked to ecosystem studies. I’ve also participated in workshops on reptile manipulation.

I consider myself a very active and dedicated person in what I do. Last year I had the chance to participate with Sky Island Alliance as a volunteer for environmental conservation on some ranches.

I’ve also had the opportunity to work with the “Protectoras de la Sierra” project, whose goal is conservation, as well as promoting environmental care within Sky Island communities.

At the end of March, I officially joined SIA as a Conservation and Restoration Intern with a focus on cultivating women leadership on ranches. I am very excited about the opportunity and to get feedback for my career and professional development.
