Elia M. Tapia is a faculty professor at Universidad de Sonora in Hermosillo, Mexico. She holds a Ph.D. in Arid Lands Resource Sciences and a minor in Hydrology from the University of Arizona. Elia has 13 years of experience in applied hydrology, hydrogeology, climate change studies, and disaster risk assessment. She has been contributing to United States-Mexico efforts on the Transboundary Aquifer Assessment Program for over 12 years, among many other projects for private and public institutions in the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Her areas of interest involve water governance, climate change, stakeholder engagement, and water resources management, particularly in transboundary settings.
