I am excited and honored to serve on the board for Sky Island Alliance. It’s very meaningful to me to be able to help conserve the biodiversity of our Sky Islands through education and scientific research, especially at a time when they are facing many threats.

I have always had a passion for wildlife and wild places, even though I grew up as a city dweller in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Being a kid in the heart of the city, I would wander the beaches of Long Island Sound and take walks in the dense New England woods. I would also watch wildlife documentaries and read about wildlife every chance I got.

In 1991, I moved to Tempe, Arizona, to attend Arizona State University for my bachelor’s degree. I then moved to Tucson in 2003, attended the University of Arizona for a Master of Education degree, and taught middle school science for seven years. Since day one, I have been continually in awe of the plants and wildlife of the Sonoran Desert. My family and I moved to Indiana for three years so that I could attend law school, but we missed the desert so much, we moved right back to Tucson. I am currently an attorney practicing family law in Tucson. In my spare time I run, hike, take pottery classes, paint, and read.
