I received a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and dedicated nearly 32 years to the National Park Service and retired after a fulfilling career. I began my journey as a park technician on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. and later advanced to the position of park superintendent while transferring around the country and working at 10 national parks and several long-term regional assignments.
After retirement, I volunteered for nearly seven years with a small non-profit organization where I took on various roles including board director, interim CEO, program manager, and trip leader. I also developed and led domestic and international volunteer conservation trips dedicated to preserving some of the world’s most significant landscapes, cultural heritage sites, and wildlife. In 2020, my husband and I sold our homes in Michigan and Florida and moved to Arizona, where we had both lived before, and settled in Glendale. In my free time, I enjoy traveling as well as hiking, birdwatching, and enjoying nature. I am delighted to become a member of the Sky Island Alliance board and look forward to contributing to the organization’s conservation and scientific goals.
