Carmina Gutiérrez

Pronouns: She/Her/Ella

I’m a biologist who has worked in Sonora for more than 15 years. I’ve been studying jaguars in the Northern Jaguar Reserve and adjacent ranches in Sahuaripa, Sonora. My PhD focused on jaguar density and survival, as well as their interactions with prey and other predators in this region. I’m very interested in gaining more knowledge about jaguar movements at a landscape level and trying to understand how and where jaguars move in order to reach the U.S. and later return to Mexico. I’m so honored to be part of Sky Island Alliance’s board, and I’ll do my best to help them strengthen their mission and conservation objectives.
