Becca Thompson supports our conservation and stewardship programs. She was drawn to Sky Island Alliance because she believes in people working together across borders, cultures, and mountain ranges to preserve the places we call home.
Becca grew up on a diversified fruit and vegetable farm in the Midwest and has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering and Ecology from the University of Michigan. She has held many different jobs – organic farmer, agricultural extensionist, ecological restoration technician, volunteer coordinator, solar panel installer — and has many years of experience surveying plants and animals across the Midwest and American Southwest.
When not at work, you can find Becca gardening, gathering acorns and other wild foods, asking people about their favorite recipes and family traditions, learning languages, and saying hi to all the dogs in the neighborhood.
