Pronouns: She/Her/Ella
My name is Alondra María Galdean Castro, and I’m originally from Agua Prieta, Sonora.
I currently study biology at the Universidad de la Sierra in Moctezuma. I particularly enjoy subjects that focus on environmental management such as population ecology, geographic information systems, and bioindicators. I have also participated in workshops for managing reptiles and other wildlife.
I am a person who is passionate about nature. I constantly work to contribute in some way to the conservation of the environment in my state. This is how, since 2022, I began to get involved with Sky Island Alliance through volunteer work on various ranches, as well as through environmental outreach activities with communities surrounding Moctezuma.
At the end of March of this year, I officially joined the SIA team as Women in Conservation Leadership Intern. I hope that this experience will enrich me with new knowledge and techniques, so I can contribute to conservation and help empower more women to do the same.
