This event has been a great collaborative effort between environmental organizations including Sky Island Alliance, local groups, and the community of Moctezuma. There will be tables from the organizing nonprofits, conservation talks, drawing contests, workshops, music, dance, and local food.
The festivities will run Friday, Oct. 14, from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon. All events will take place in Moctezuma’s Plaza Principal.
For those coming from the U.S., note you’ll need to buy an “Only Sonora” permit in advance to drive in this eastern part of the state. But it’s well worth it. If you’re looking for a place to stay, there are hotels in Moctezuma and Cumpas, and one of our partners has graciously offered free rustic camping at a nearby ranch. If you have questions, email our Sonora Conservation Coordinator Sergio Müller.
Get updates and share this event with friends on Facebook — we look forward to seeing you there.
