This Oct. 26-27 the town of Moctezuma, Sonora, will host the 2nd Festival of the Sky Islands. Come join us and help celebrate our region’s incredible biodiversity and culture!
The event was an amazing success last year, and we’re looking forward to more fun. It’s been a great collaborative effort between environmental organizations, local groups, and the community of Moctezuma. There will be tables from the organizing nonprofits, conservation talks, drawing contests, workshops, music, dance, and local food.
The festivities will take place on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 4-7 p.m. in Moctezuma’s Plaza Principal. Then on Friday, Oct. 27, there will be various workshops throughout the day held on UniSierra’s campus.
For those coming from the U.S., here’s info on the “Only Sonora” permit. If you’re looking for a place to stay, there are hotels in Moctezuma and Cumpas. There will also be camping available — more details and registration to come soon. If you have questions, email our Sonora Conservation Coordinator Sergio Müller.
Sign up below, and we’ll keep you in the loop with any updates for the event. We look forward to seeing you there!
