This report State of the Coronado National Forest: An Assessment and Recommendations for the 21st Century details the species and ecosystems of the Coronado National Forest and the pressures and threats affecting them. Published in 2009 by the Coronado Planning Partnership the purpose of the report is to assess the current state of the Coronado with a particular focus on human and other pressures that are negatively affecting ecosystems and species and that can be addressed by Forest Planning and management. The report contains 13 chapters. Chapter 10 describes the natural resources present in the Winchester Ecosystem Management Area, threats to those resources, and site specific management recommendations to protect the area.
