I have a B.S. in Wildlife Science and an M.A. in Environmental Education from New Mexico State University. I spent most of my professional career educating children in science in rural schools in SE Arizona and am currently the 8th grade Science Teacher and Science Department chair at Willcox Middle School. I routinely take my students on expeditions to explore many of the amazing wild places in the Sky Island Region. In the past, I also worked seasonally for the Coronado National Forest conducting riparian analyses, trails inventories, and recreational impact studies. I was a past chair of the Gila Box National Riparian Conservation Area Advisory Council and a founding member of the Wings Over Willcox Nature Festival. I joined the Sky Island Alliance board in 1999 and previously served as Vice-President and Human Resources committee chair. I have a strong commitment to SIA’s mission, in particular promoting conservation awareness and understanding in rural communities.
