Jakelynn Wert

Jakelynn WertWildlife Intern

My name is Jakelynn. I grew up mostly in Tucson, Arizona. After bouncing around from Singapore to North Carolina to Indonesia, I’m back for the open skies and beautiful desert environment.

I am in undergrad for Sociology and Psychology at the University of Arizona and work for a couple local Tucson businesses, helping kids and adults push their limits and learn more in rock climbing and parkour.

As a Wildlife Intern, I’ll be helping sort and identify desert creatures in the photos we get back from our many trail cameras, providing data for several SIA projects including the Border Wildlife Study.

As someone who loves to hike, rock climb, camp, and just poke around in the dirt, I spend as much time as I can in the Sky Islands and the land between. I’m excited to join the SIA team!
