In the final days of the Trump administration, new construction contracts are being signed for wall construction and border habitat damage is proceeding at a breakneck pace in the Sky Island region. Wall construction is accelerating through both the Huachuca and Patagonia Mountains, with massive road grading and wall installation along more than 6 miles.

I urge you to demand accountability from the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Patrol, and request they halt border wall construction and begin a real review of the profound social, environmental and economic damage it is causing. The roads and border wall being built at a breakneck pace is destroying Indigenous sacred sites and our national treasures: National Wildlife Refuges, National Memorials, National Forests, and a National Conservation Area.
