Conservation in the Patagonia Mountains

Join a discussion with Patagonia Area Resource Alliance (PARA)—one of Sky Island Alliance’s Border Wildlife Study partners—to learn about wildlife conservation efforts in Arizona’s Patagonia Mountains.

For nearly a decade, PARA has collected camera data to document the incredible diversity of flora and fauna species that live within the mountains’ canyons and corridors. However, many of these species and their unique habitats are threatened by mining activity and border wall construction. These actions are detrimental to species survival and cross-border migration.

This Coffee Break webinar will introduce the work PARA does in the Patagonia Mountains, outline the species PARA and Sky Island Alliance have detected through their camera programs, and discuss the current environmental risks posed to the region by mining and wall construction.
